Fredrikstad, Norway, Nov 6th, 2018
Following the success of the children’s TV series Box Yourself, which premiered in 2015 and has since been sold to over 50 networks, broadcasters, and SVOD platforms worldwide, Earthtree Media is excited to announce a new BoxTV show in development: Box City.
Box City is an innovative series that inspires kids to design and build their own cities! The show introduces children to concepts like architecture, urban planning, and environmental sustainability, all while engaging them in fun arts and crafts activities. All materials used in the show come from recycled sources, and the projects are simple, easy to make, and feature a distinctive play function.
Stein Georg Lillemoen, CEO of Earthtree and producer of the show, shares:
“We are currently developing a brand-new series, Box City. The 7-episode mini-series on YouTube has been incredibly well-received, and now we’re expanding it into a premium show for broadcasters and SVOD platforms. The first season will consist of 12 episodes, set to launch in Q1 2019. Season 2 (12 episodes) will follow in Q4 2019.”
Box City is hosted by creativity guru Mr. Øistein Kristiansen, who has reached over 500 million kids worldwide through TV and YouTube over the past decade.
Targeted at children ages 5-12, the series will also be supported by additional resources, including recipes, drawings, and bonus content, providing broadcasters and SVODs with extra tools to engage kids online.
The show will be produced in English, with a shorter, non-dialogue version of all 20 episodes available for those who prefer not to dub or seek a more concise format for their platforms.
Box City is currently under production at Earthtree Studios in Fredrikstad, Norway. The first episodes are set to ship in December 2018.
